At St. Joseph's Indian Institutions, we aspire to form persons who have more of Competence, Compassion, Conscience and Commitment. This Institution directs its educational efforts to develop socially responsible persons who are capable of exercising leadership in advancing the cause of human good in the world.
Since its inception in 1904, St. Joseph's Indian High School has come a long way. Its history is replete with many great landmarks and achievements both in the field of academics as well as sports and co-curricular activities. From a small beginning in 1904, the Institution has grown into a gigantic structure, housing more than 3,000 students with over 120 teaching and non-teaching staff. The St. Joseph's Indian Institutions stand for academic excellence and strive to inculcate in the minds of the students a genuine concern for the welfare of the others.
St. Joseph, who is the foster father of Jesus Christ, was a carpenter and a symbol of hard work and toil. Toil is a necessary pre-requisite for any success. There is no substitute for hard work. I pray for God's blessings on each and every one of you. May you be successful. May the motto Fide et Labore (Faith and Toil) be the guiding force in your lives. May it show you the destiny the future holds for you. May God bless you all.
Fr. Gerald Furtado, S.J.
