Elizabeth was the daughter of the king of Hungary. Her marriage to Louis of Thuringia was arranged when she was four years old and Louis was eleven. She moved to the court of Thuringia where she grew up with Louis and became his best friend. In 1221, Elizabeth married the man she had come to love very much.
