The miraculous Byzantine style icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help shows Mary holding a young Jesus frightened at the sight of the instruments of His future Passion, held by the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. In running to His mother, His sandal has loosened and is dangling from His foot. She doesn’t try to change God's plan, instead she comforts Jesus, lending Him the strength to follow His path just as she does for all of us.
Her feast day is June 27.
