In the Acts of the Apostles, there is no mention of a Saint Paul healing the possessed. Raphael in his famous hangings represents Saint Paul blinding the false prophet Elymas. Perhaps it was a miracle performed by Saint Paul before Nero before his torture. It will simply be pointed out that exorcism was a topical subject in France in the years 1630 - 1640, with the affair of the possessed of Loudun and the death at the stake of Urbain Grandier in 1634.

His feast day is January 25.
